No, I'm not trying to sell this Ebay item, but this glamourous picture shows what I thought air travel would be like before I'd ever gotten into an airplane. (I only flew for the first time in my life a few months ago--and I'm forty-friggin'-two.)

Somewhere--I can't remember where--I have a Coca-Cola ad from WWII, in LIFE or some similar magazine, with a comedic drawing of soldiers on an island in the Pacific. A group of them are doing an al-male parody of a strip-tease show. Some are in drag, while others are naked. It's hilariously homo-erotic, and I have to wonder what the ad agency was thinking when they did it.
